When we are weak, Jesus is strong.

Has a medical diagnosis shattered your world?

Are you wondering how you are going to have a meaningful life… or simply cope with the day-to-day challenges of your condition? Are you questioning whether God’s love is strong enough to help you navigate decades of chronic illness?

You are not alone.

My name is Shannon and I was diagnosed with narcolepsy, post orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), and gastroparesis in my early twenties. Together, these three disorders lit my carefully planned future on fire. I never imagined that I would struggle to work part-time, learn to run infusions to supplement my chronically dehydrated body, or feel like an eighty-year-old woman as a young adult.

How could God let this happen? I had so much I wanted to accomplish with my life—but my dreams lay in ashes. How was I going to move forward with the little strength I had left?

That is when Jesus came for me. Completely undone by disability, he took me by the hand and began leading me forward one baby step at a time. Twelve years later, God has accomplished something I thought was impossible—I love my life again despite chronic illness. Jesus can work the same miracle for you.

I am passionate about equipping people in crisis with biblical tools they can use to fuel their faith. My book, How to Keep Believing When You’re Suffering: A Guide to Braving Chronic Illness, shares the comfort God has given me on this unexpected journey.

Whatever battle you are fighting, I pray my story encourages you that God’s strength is sufficient for every challenge we face. Jesus is still the Resurrection King.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

-2 Corinthians 1:3-4
